Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
