Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.
The team did not mention Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Posted on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
