‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to express about his deep grief.

"Adequate time has elapsed that I can at last articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced spending more time together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he could not remember "a single day without joy".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate piece, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A legal directive put a embargo on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
